After the successful debut [link] I decided to mess with LiteStep some more. This is the result.
Inspired by Elfin2 [link] Created by [link] Much thanks for his permission to re-distribute my edit of his skin.
------------------------------ Notes from version 1.1 ------------------------------ I made the tray and taskbar icons large - for ease of recognition.
I added a volume control (middle-click on bottom-right button)
------------------------------ Notes from version 1.0 ------------------------------ This LiteStep theme contains all the modules within it.
I added an always-on-top mini-corner (top left) which can be clicked even when a window is open covering the desktop. No need to minimize everything to open the PopUp menu! :-D Left-click on it to see today's date!
There is a middle-mouse-button-click menu in addition to the regular right-mouse-button-click.
There is a button where "Start" usually is: right-click to minimize all windows, left-click for another custom menu.
On mouse-over above time display you get a mouse-scroll-wheel-scrollable list of tray icons.
Not sure you'll see this anytime soon, but I'm loving this theme. I am having trouble getting the slider to work for my main system volume however. Nothing I do seems to work. Any advice?
Are you running XP? This worked on XP without trouble - not sure about other OS versions. Sorry couldn't be of much help. You could try other themes I made that have the Volume control. Though the code should be the same - if it works somewhere - you'll know there is a problem with this theme
The uTorrent icon is lit up in the screenshot because I moved the mouse-cursor over it - all icons are in black and white normally.
If you don't see one or some of your icons, it is because there is a 4 icon limit - you just need to use the scroll wheel to scroll though them.
If you prefer - you can make the icons the regular 16x16px size (to fit more) or just enlarge the size of the tray bar (to fit more) by changing the theme.rc (ask if you don't know which line of code and/or how).
hey dude! I'm having some issues with this theme... a friend wanted icons on her desktop so I added icondesk-0.68 to the theme.rc, yes, it loads perfectly... but when dblclick-ing on them, the whole shell goes down... any ideas why? maybe because I placed to load the module last?
Hey - glad to see someone experimenting with my theme! I am not sure - I just included icondesk-0.68 on the 1.3 version of my theme and it works! I didn't even need to set anything up.
I used:
*NetLoadModule "icondesk-0.68.dll"
and it was the last module to load in step.rc The easiest thing you could try doing is try it on the 1.3 version of my theme and if it works without a glitch - that might give you a hint at something. If it doesn't work - then it seems like something is different on your part? Not sure - but try this and that - and let me know if I can help out after that!
I removed the code to move the taskbar when I was editing the skin the first time because I was doing the edit for myself. I kept it that way because I don't know how to (nor wish to learn to) allow a user to switch it. Additionally I really think it's thoroughly inconvenient to have the taskbar above - where the "X" to close the window is: instead of sliding your mouse pointer to the top right and clicking to close, you need to carefully aim it about 15 pixels below that...
Anyway - I'm sorry to hear your icons don't show up when you hover over the clock - does my skin give you an error about loading the "x-tray" or the "ckhotspots" module? If the last one doesn't work - you won't get the tray-bar. To check if "ckhotspots" is ok - you could click on bottom-left to see the volume - and if the slider doesn't disappear when you move your mouse away - "ckhotspots" doesn't work on your PC as of now.
The other thing is that when you use your mouse-wheel -- the icons scroll; so maybe you scrolled them out of your view?

Hope you can help me, I'm using msn alot you see

Let me know how things work out.

"removed: the option to put the taksbar to the top; if you want it there, you're wrong
Fair enough
I do however seem to have a problem. The icons do not show up when i hover over the clock.
