A simple Rainmeter config file which displays a text (C:\todo.txt by default) file on your desktop.
Included are three presets: regular, shadow, outline Clicking on a rectangle on top-left (not in picture) opens the .txt file! Easy to customize (one location for size, color, etc)
Have fun!
Big thanks to the guy who posted the code for displaying txt files, I used it and his "Reminders:" ... can't find that page again
Thanks. Feel free to tinker with the theme as much as you like and re-share if you think others will use. I'm not planning to spend any more time on customization - I'm working on other projects: www.yboris.com
love this!! I use it at work and home daily!! I am probably dreaming here, but does anyone know how to add a check-box to the left of each line that would be interactive enough to allow you to check mark each task via mouse click on the meter on your desktop? B/C that would be pimp juice!
Again I'm aware that this is probably beyond the scope of what this meter is designed for, but what if?
* I have a .docx document with said check-boxes I've used in Rainmeter, that when pointed to said document can't understand the formatting it seems and shows garbled text. Not sure if this limitation is from this meter or the rainmeter application itself.
Hey super The rainmeter skin is meant for .txt files and without some serious scripting there won't be any check boxes (and perhaps rainmeter won't allow that even if you try). Google around for such a skin - maybe there is one. Also glance at Samurize (like Rainmeter but another program).
I can't get the button to work :/ Everything else is very nice! Is there a way to have a rule (long line) to separate the title from the actual list? I've tried using ------ but it comes up separated rather than a smooth line.
the "----------" should work if you use another font (I'm pretty confident). Not sure how to get the button to work - try pointing to "C:\text.txt" and create a text.txt in C:\ - maybe the problem is with a path (if it has spaces or capital letters in it or something).
